Abstract

One of the physics matter that is considered difficult by high school students is the concept of collision in which discuss the coefficient of restitution (e). On that basis, the restitution coefficient becomes one of the studies discussed in Physics Depth II for pre-service physics teacher in one of LPTK in West Java. This paper describes the profile of pre-service physics teacher in understanding the physical meanings of restitution coefficients, how to write mathematical formulas and the appropriate didactic reduction in learning the concept of restitution coefficients in high school students. The population of this research is pre-service physics teacher in one of LPTK in West Java, while the sample is 80 pre-service physics teacher who has taken the subject of Physics Depth II. By using cross-sectional survey method, it was found that (1) the number of respondents who answered the physical meaning of the restitution coefficient in the right category were: 39.7%, the less appropriate category was 22% and the rest of the category was not exactly 38.3%. (2) The mathematical formula of the selected restitution coefficient is 91.3% using TYPE B1, 2.8% using TYPE B2 and the remaining 5.7% using TYPE B4. (3) The didactic reduction chosen by the respondents in learning the concept of restitution coefficient in high school students is 10.2% by returning to the qualitative mean, 66.7% using drawings and sketches, 20.3% using analogy, while the rest using particularization (1.4%) and generalization (1.4%).

Abstract

Hydrothermal system research using Self Potential (SP) Method, 2-D DC Resistivity and surface temperature, has been done at Domas Crater (1700 masl). Potential anomaly which is associated with subsurface structure is obtained by SP measurement, whereas temperature measurement is done to get information about surface temperature distribution laterally and resistivity distribution of volcano structures is known by 2-D DC Resistivity measurement. Hydrothermal activities, which cause the existence of SP value, are modeled using this scheme modeling. This schema modeling is validated by comparing the value of SP model with field measurement. The shallow hydrothermal activities at Domas Crater are influenced by meteoric and subsurface water. The velocity of hydrothermal activities are about 10-9 - 10-7 m/s. 16.64% root mean square error is obtained by Comsol modeling, whereas 6.54% root mean square error is obtained by modeling using finite element method.

Abstract

Physics learning in Vocational High School is considered ineffective, this is due to the lack of media and teaching materials during the learning activities. In addition, the ability of teachers to use the same methods and models, asking for learning in the classroom becomes monotonous and increases the knowledge and skills of students. The purpose of this research is to measure the effectiveness of learning with the Discovery Learning model on work and energy material through the AABTLT with SAS assessment system. The method used is descriptive method. The research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah 2 Cibiru Vocational School, with the sample of the study being 41 students from class X RPL. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between learning design that has been prepared with the achievement of learning by students. This research concludes that the use of the Discovery Learning model can measure the effectiveness of learning which shows the average achievement of each step of the activity exceeds 50%, where in the preliminary activities reached 82.14%, essences activities 71.83% and closing activities 61.31%

Abstract

This study originated from the lack of utilization of learning media during the learning process. Teaching methods used by teachers are less varied so that learners are only trained in cognitive abilities only while for high-level thinking skills such as critical thinking ability is still low. One alternative that can be done to improve the skills of critical thinking is to utilize the Software Tracker media. This study aims to determine the improvement of critical thinking skills of learners through the use of Software Tracker media on the material impulse and momentum. The research method used is Pre-Experiment with design One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of this research using Purposive Sampling technique. The research instrument used in this research is the critical thinking skills of the students of impulse material and momentum to measure the critical thinking ability of learners. The data analysis technique uses normality test, and t test to normalized n-gain value from pretest and posttest value of learners using Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of learners increased after utilizing the Software Tracker media during learning. The result of this research is proved from the significant value of ttable test of 1.691 while t count is 24.53 which means H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. The results of this study indicate that the use of Software Tracker media on the material impulse and momentum have a positive impact on improving the critical thinking skills of learners.

Abstract

The existence of halal and good food is a basic requirement for Muslims. Maintaining the quality of food from the integrity of nutrients and keep it away from the source of disease is one effort to create good quality food. This will be more valuable if it can be done with natural materials that exist around the community itself. Growing environmental awareness and social sensitivity on the young generation of Muslims is something that can not be separated from education in college. This research is aimed to develop bio-plastic making device based on ganyong (Canna edulis) with the utilization of used and cheap goods. The method used in the research is Research and Development (R & D). Develop Spin Coating devices to suit the needs of edible printing. The effectiveness of measurable measurements of physical bio-plastic factor measurements resulted in strength, thickness and durability. The results of this study show that the results are quite optimal, especially on the thickness factor. The thickness of bio-plastics produced using modified spin coating is <0.5 mm with rotation at a certain speed, ie at 12 volts and 60o - 80oC. The result of bio-plastic obtained can be used as food wrapper which in this research is applied as dodol wrapping. So the quality of nutrition dodol can be more durable.
